Biographical Information


Dr. Small is a native of Colorado. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High school in Denver and completed his undergraduate degree at Colorado College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. He obtained an MD and PhD in Microbiology from Duke University. He completed his residency in Clinical Pathology at the University of Utah. Dr. Small’s first job after medical school moved him to Las Vegas. In 1990, he moved back to Colorado and began a position at Presbyterian St. Luke’s, Centura in Aurora. He worked there until he accepted a position at RVU in 2018.
