Biographical Information

Dr. Mason received a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Brigham Young University –Idaho in 2012 and a Ph.D. in Physiology and Developmental Biology from Brigham Young University in 2015. Her doctoral research involved high-resolution MRI, mapping, and advanced dissection of the human larynx and the recurrent laryngeal nerve. Prior to her appointment at RVU, Dr. Mason served as the Director of the Gross Anatomy Laboratory and an Assistant Professor of Physiology and Anatomy at a new allopathic school of medicine called California Northstate University College of Medicine. While at CNUCOM from 2015-2017 Dr. Mason designed the entire gross anatomy curriculum, delivered physiology lectures that emphasize active learning and drawing, and also taught basic ultrasound to first-year medical students. Dr. Mason’s current research is in the field of medical education and involves the development of different strategies for training medical students in ultrasound skill. She is very passionate about education and loves to spend time outdoors. In her spare time, Dr. Mason enjoys snowboarding, hiking, canyoneering, and traveling.
