During his career, Dr. Shannon has championed many worthy causes and has a strong history of leadership in public health and preventative medicine. He is the current President of the Federation of Schools of the Health Professionals and a member of the Veterans Administration’s National Academic Affiliations Council.

“Dr. Shannon is becoming a legend in the osteopathic medical education community based on his work in Maine as the Dean at the University of New England and now the President of AACOM,” said Clint Adams, DO, FACHE, President and CEO of Rocky Vista University, “While at AACOM, he has opened many previously closed doors for our member colleges, created positions on nationally recognized medical education committees, taskforces and even the ACGME.  He is more than a friend and confidant— he is a mentor to many.”

The event will be held at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver. The doors will open at 4:00 pm with the ceremony set to begin an hour later. One-hundred fifty students will graduate from RVU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, while twenty-six students will graduate from the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program.
