Dr. Anthony J. LaPorta retired from the U.S. Army as a Colonel after over 26 years of service. He has served in every aspect of medical education and is currently the Professor of Surgery and Director of Rocky Vista University’s Military Medicine Program. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles and presentations on surgery, immunology, military medicine, and simulation. He originally trained in surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the University of Oxford, England. An avid skier, he was the first American to run the Olympic torch for the 2010 Vancouver games.
