Julie is originally from Ontario, Canada but has lived in the United States for years. She has acquired several degrees: a Bachelor of Health Science – Physician Assistant degree from McMaster University; a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Lakeland University; a Master of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from Medical University of South Carolina; and, a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from The Citadel.
She worked as a medical technologist for years, focusing on transfusion medicine, hematology, microbiology, and chemistry laboratories. She lectured for Western University in its physiology and pharmacology program. Upon receiving her PA certification, she practiced in the cardiovascular intensive care unit and pediatric medicine. She has also been an adjunct faculty at McMaster University in the PA program. Julie brings clinical knowledge and teaching skills to the new PA program.
Julie has 11-year-old twin boys and four dogs (two boxers and two pugs). They have recently moved to Colorado in order to join the RVU family.
