Rocky Vista University Establishes Colorado Campus Executive Advisory Council

[August 31, 2020 – Parker, CO]

Rocky Vista University’s (RVU) Executive Advisory Council (EAC) on the Colorado campus has been established to proactively guide, promote, advise and support the University in its efforts to provide the highest quality of healthcare education in Colorado and the Mountain West region. The Council serves alongside the President and the Board of Trustees at RVU and meets a minimum of two times per year to review and discuss initiatives that promote the University’s core values of Integrity, Collegiality, Compassion, Diversity, Innovation, Service, and Excellence.

Members of the EAC are exceptionally talented and highly accomplished leaders in the healthcare field and in medical and graduate education. Among their responsibilities for the RVU-CO campus are to serve as a sounding board for various issues, programs, and activities, to identify opportunities for students within the greater medical community, and to assist in acquiring resources and fundraising in support of the University’s nonprofit goals, such as student scholarships or well-being and welfare.

The Executive Committee which governs the EAC has appointed the following community leaders as members of the RVU-CO EAC: Scott Ellner, DO, CEO of Billings Clinic and past Group President and CEO of Centura Health Physicians Group; George “Matt” Webster, PhD, entrepreneur with a background in academic, technology, and business; Adrian Clark, MS, an independent higher education consultant specializing in accreditation, institutional effectiveness, diversity and inclusion, and strategic planning; Julie Collett, RDH, registered dental hygienist who has more than 15 years of nonprofit management experience and joined the Denver Osteopathic Foundation as the Executive Director in 2018; Connie Dixon, CEO for the Center for Spine and Orthopedics; Greg Salsbury, PhD, president of Western Colorado University; Maureen Tarrant, President and CEO of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children; Kathy Vidlock, MD, faculty at HealthONE Family Medicine Residency Program.

"RVU has always focused on being an asset to the communities that we serve,” said Clinton E. Adams, DO, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Office of RVU. “It is inherently difficult to achieve that goal without listening to our community leaders.” In addition to the EAC, RVU also coordinates with its Physician Assistant (PA) Advisory Council, which advises the Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree program on the Colorado campus. Established in 2015, the PA Advisory Council provides guidance and serves partners in academic, research, community, and healthcare collaborations. It is comprised of accomplished experts offering innovative advice and dynamic perspectives with the goal of helping the program prepare RVU’s PA students to succeed as physician assistants. “We are very proud of the work [the PA Advisory Council] has accomplished,” said Dr. Adams. “I look forward to the enhanced collaboration between them and the [RVU-CO Executive Advisory Committee].”
