Dear RVU Family:
Nationally, COVID-19 cases have risen 2.18% from last week. Reported positive cases in Colorado have increased 1.30% over last week and cases in Utah are up .56%.
Many state and local COVID-related health orders are being softened or lifted as more people become vaccinated. In Utah, COVID health restrictions are being lifted as the state reached its benchmarks (14-day case rate less than 191 per 100,000 people, the seven-day average of COVID-19 intensive care unit usage under 15%, and 1,633,000 prime doses of the COVID-19 vaccine allocated to the state). On Sunday, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis extended the state’s face mask mandate for another 30 days but loosened restrictions for groups of people vaccinated against COVID-19. Under Colorado’s new order, people gathering indoors in groups of 10 or more are no longer required to wear masks if at least 80% of the attendees are vaccinated against the virus.
While we are definitely headed in the right direction, we need to continue to do all we can to ensure that we continue to protect ourselves and our loved ones until more people are vaccinated. For information on how to protect yourself and others after you have been fully vaccinated, please see the CDC guidelines here.
Nationwide 44.7% of the population has received at least one dose of the vaccine and 32.3% have been fully vaccinated. In Colorado, 44% of the population has received at least one dose and 33% are fully vaccinated. Utah is at 41.6% for at least the first dose and 31.2% of residents being fully vaccinated.
Proof of Vaccine for Employees:
Currently, 27% of our UT employees and 22% of CO employees are vaccinated. As a reminder, to prepare for our July 1 vaccine requirement, employees may now upload their proof of vaccine on the iNet: Log in to the iNet, go to Faculty and Staff tab, then Forms. Complete the Proof of Vaccination Form located under the COVID-19 Related Forms section. The form is found here.
Employees seeking a vaccine accommodation for religious or medical reasons may access the applicable forms on the iNet. They can also be found in the COVID-19 Related Forms section here as stated above. Please contact the HR Department with any questions.
Proof of Vaccine for Students:
Currently, 47% of the student body (including incoming COM students) are fully vaccinated. Students who have not yet submitted their vaccine documentation must do so by uploading a copy of the vaccine record at the SentryMD site found here. If an exemption for medical or religious reasons is needed, please complete the exemption form found at the bottom of the page at Rocky Vista University | Sentry MD.
Members of the RVU Community who have not yet received their vaccination may do so at our vaccine clinic (remember the clinics are also open to the community, so please invite friends and family to make an appointment as well). In Colorado, please visit the RVHC website at www.rockyvistahc.com to schedule an appointment. The Utah vaccine clinic will hold a second dose Moderna clinic on Saturday, May 15th from 8:00 -8:30 a.m. (only 70 slots will be available for this clinic). To register, please use the following link https://inet.rvu.edu/faculty-and-staff/forms/covid-vaccination-registration-form/
Thank you for your continued patience as we continue on our journey and head toward Phase Green. Stay safe and be well!
