[August 28, 2020 – Parker, CO] IBM Watson Health has named HealthONE (a partner of Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine’s graduate medical education program) the “Top Large Health System in the Country for 2020” and Sky Ridge Medical Center one of the “Top 100 Hospitals in the Nation”. For over a decade, Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVUCOM) has collaborated with numerous hospitals and clinicals to provide residency programs for our graduates and those in other programs.
RVUCOM’s most enduring and dynamic partnership has been with HealthONE, the largest healthcare system in the metro Denver area. “HealthONE has been fortunate to partner with [RVUCOM] in Graduate Medical Education for nearly 10 years,” said Laura Stephens, Assistant Vice President of Communications at HealthONE. The American Osteopathic Association granted initial accreditation to the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Sky Ridge Medical Center in 2011, beginning the collaboration between HealthOne and RVUCOM.
Since then, HealthONE and RVUCOM have partnered together on six more accredited residency programs: Family Medicine, General Surgery, Vascular Neurology, Neurology, Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, Transitional Year Residency, and Psychiatry.
“With a shared dedication to academic and clinical excellence, HealthONE and RVU have made a commitment to training and supporting the next generation of physicians,” said Ms. Stephens. “While the types of partnerships may change, this shared dedication forms a bedrock of trust and collaboration that we hope will extend well into the future.”
IBM Watson Health is an organization that commits to building “smarter health ecosystems” through data analytics, industry expertise, and actionable insights. Every year, they distribute lists of the top-performing hospitals and health systems based on a balanced scorecard of publicly available metrics and data. HealthOne received the award based on their safety rates, low numbers of complications or infections, short ER wait times, and patient satisfaction.
