RVU SOCIAL JUSTICE CHAMPION CONTEST

The RVU Social Justice Contest

In 2021, the Marketing Department hosted a contest to promote the many great causes that our students and employees were involved in. We are excited to announce that we are holding the contest again this year—but with even more cash prizes! We are calling for nominations of RVUers who are advancing the cause of social justice in some way. This can be in one of many areas:

  • Poverty and homelessness
  • Gender equality
  • Race equality and anti-racism
  • Discrimination and prejudice
  • Disability rights
  • Unemployment and job training
  • Human rights and protections
  • LGBTQ+ rights and equality
  • And many more

Nominate an RVUer who you think is doing amazing work in the name of social justice and they could win an incredible prize!

CONTEST INFORMATION

Rules of the Contest

  • You may re-submit somebody from last year if they did not win
  • An entire group may be nominated, but it will be up to the leader to determine where the money will be donated
    • Each member will receive RVU merchandise, up to 10 items
  • Multiple nominations for one person will be given special consideration, but will not be the determining factor for a winner
  • Deadline for Nominations: April 22, 2022

Prizes

  • The RVU Marketing Department will donate to the organization/s of each winner's choice: **
    • $1,000 to the first-place winner
    • $500 to the second-place winner

**Subject to RVU's discretion—in the event that there is concern about the appropriateness of the organization, the winner will be able to offer a secondary organization/charity

  • The winner will appear in a spotlight on the RVU Blog and in the Vista View
  • Both the winner and their nominator (unless it is a self-nomination) will receive an item from the RVU school store as an additional prize
  • Other nominated RVUers may appear in a blog post
