For the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program at Rocky Vista University’s Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVU-MCOM), clinical externship sites are located in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, North and South Dakota, Washington, and Alaska. Externship slots are determined by lottery during the second year.

The externship assignment schedule is issued to students prior to beginning externships each year.  The Montana clinical education program assignments, while applying partial regional designations, focus primarily on career pathway advising. All externship assignments are considered final.  A student may request to change their assigned externship 90-days prior to the start of the externship; however, there is no guarantee that the change will be possible.
