Welcome to the Office of International Scholar Success at Rocky Vista University. At RVU, we blend academic excellence with a celebration of diverse cultures, preparing future healthcare professionals to serve with compassion, integrity, and excellence.

Before You Arrive

As an F1 student arriving at Rocky Vista University (RVU), there are several important things to remember and prepare for:

Visa and Documentation: Form I-20, passport, visa stamp, financial proof, and any other required documents.

Arrival and Orientation: Plan your arrival to coincide with the university’s orientation program.

Housing and Accommodation: If you haven’t already arranged for housing, make sure you have a place to stay upon arrival. Whether it’s on-campus housing or off-campus options, having a comfortable and safe living arrangement is crucial.

Communication: Keep your contact information updated with the university and the PDSO or DSO. This will help you receive important updates and information related to your status and academic progress.

Financial Services: For any financial services questions please visit the Office of Student Financial Services page via the button below. For more information about international student loan options, click the loan options button below.

International Compliance.

SEVIS Reporting: Inform your PDSO/DSO of any changes to your personal information, such as address, phone number, and email, within 10 days of the change.

Travel Authorization: Obtain a travel signature from your PDSO/DSO on your Form I-20 before traveling outside of the United States. This signature is typically valid for one year.

Employment Authorization: Obtain proper authorization from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) before engaging in any form of off-campus employment.

Health Insurance: International students are required to use university health insurance. For all health insurance related questions, click the button below

Special Situations: If you encounter any unforeseen circumstances or have questions about your immigration status, consult your PDSO/DSO immediately.

Remember that these guidelines are subject to change, and it’s important to regularly check with your PDSO/DSO and the U.S. government’s official immigration resources for the most up-to-date information. Compliance with these regulations will help ensure a successful and smooth experience as an F1 student at RVU.

Our Utah campus is located in Ivins, UT, approximately 15 minutes from downtown St. George. The City of Ivins is a known as beneath the Big Red Mountain, which is where the campus is located. The weather is beautiful and sunny most of the year which makes it a great place for outdoor recreation, hiking, boating, camping, kayaking to name a few. There are several National Parks which are close to the campus; Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Grand Canyon National Park. Snow Canyon State Park is located just 5 minutes from campus which offers a beautiful landscape of red and white rocks.

Billings, sitting along the Yellowstone River and the famous Rimrocks, is known as Montana’s Trailhead because it serves as the border between western Montana’s mountains and Eastern Montana’s plains and badlands. Billings is an urban city offering modern amenities, exceptional views, outdoor recreation, and award-winning cuisine. Billings is the medical hub for two thirds of Montana and portions of bordering states. Although Billings is the largest city in Montana, it boasts small-town hospitality!
