Honoring Women’s History Month: Empowering Women’s Health and Wellness
By: Marli Weisman, OMS-I
Remembering Women’s Contributions to Healthcare
March marks Women’s History Month, a time dedicated to celebrating women’s achievements, tenacity, and contributions throughout history. This month honors pioneering scientists, groundbreaking physicians, and courageous advocates for women’s rights. It serves as a reminder of the strides women have made and the work that remains to be done. One area where progress continues to be essential is women’s health and wellness.
Introducing RVU’s Women’s Health and Wellness Conference
For decades, researchers and practitioners have overlooked or under-represented women’s healthcare issues. However, the conversation around women’s health is shifting with increasing awareness and advocacy efforts. Institutions and organizations are stepping up to provide the necessary education, support, and healthcare resources to empower women to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVUCOM) is excited to be one of those institutions and host a Women’s Health and Wellness Conference on Sunday, May 18th, 2025.
This free and interactive celebration of women’s health gives insight into wellness, self-care, and preventive healthcare. The conference will feature a lineup of trained professionals leading conversations on neonatology, newborn care support services, oncology, gastroenterology, and public health.
Conference Topics and Workshops
In addition, the event will provide a complete array of interactive workshops focusing on topics like nutrition, self-defense, and wellness (including self-care strategies). These workshops will equip participants with information and skills to manage their health.
Women’s History Month celebrates the past while working towards creating a healthier, stronger future for every woman. By participating in events like the Women’s Health and Wellness Conference, we honor the legacies of those who fought for access to medical care, equality in medicine, and informed choice.
Let us build a community where women’s health is not just crucial during Women’s History Month but throughout the entire year. For more details on the conference, please refer to our registration site.
