March 13, 2020 | Clinical Rotations Update Since my last communication to you, Intermountain Health Care, in consultation with administrations of all Utah based Nursing and Medical Schools, has decided to limit student participation in Operating Room activities due to limitations in PPE resources needed for care of patients with COVID-19. Other training sites in both Utah and Colorado have begun to limit student OR participation as well. ربح المال مجانا Below lists again RVU COVID-19 policy governing expectations of students on clinical rotations, with a OR policy added, reflecting the changing situation. All RVU students on clinical rotations must: NOT participate in the bedside care of patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 illness. March 13, 2020 | Temporary Telecommuting Guidelines Good evening, The CDC has identified telecommuting or remote work as an effective infection control strategy for the coronavirus.  We are asking your immediate assistance to determine the feasibility to telecommute for full and part positions time that do not currently have a telecommuting agreement.  Manager and employee should connect as soon as possible to discuss below.  Once the best telecommuting approach has been determined, employees should begin the new arrangement. Temporary Telecommuting Approach Determine eligibility for working remotely by reviewing job description (located in M drive) to determine which Essential Job Functions can be completed remotely. These are the primary, numbered functions found at the beginning of the job description. Example: Participate in curriculum development, assessment and modification as a part of the colleges ongoing quality improvement and assessment program. Discuss if there are any Essential Job Functions which could be challenging to complete telecommuting. Determine what resources are needed to successfully telecommute. If you were scheduled at one of the below facilities, your exam has been canceled: Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Utah Valley University (Orem) Rocky Vista University both campuses If you were scheduled to test at one of the above sites, then look for a follow-up email today or tomorrow from Clinical Education regarding the rescheduling of your exam to a new date at a Prometric testing site. RVU will cover the costs of Prometric site testing. If you are scheduled to test next week at Utah State University (Logan, Vernal, Price) as of today, you will still be able to test at those locations. March 11, 2020 | Curriculum Delivery Change Dear Students, In an effort to minimize exposure during this recent coronavirus outbreak, the COM, MSBS, and PA programs have decided to move to all online course content and assessments. This will start Monday March 16. It is likely to continue through the end of the semester, but the Program Directors and Preclinical Dean will reevaluate the situation on April 17 and adjust as necessary. While the university is not shutdown, we ask that students do not come to campus. The purpose of this is to minimize exposure. Program Specific information will follow in a separate email in the next two days. Videos will be available on mediasite and/or your student calendar. Information on how to access will be sent when appropriate. Students can expect communication from OOT in the next week regarding Secure Exams. As a follow-up to the Communicable Diseases Policy & Action Plan sent to the RVU Community on March 4, I am providing the following update: Current Status: Confirmed cases of COVID-19 are increasing internationally and within the US. Under the non-traditional school category, RVU has been honored with the Gold distinction, which is reserved for schools scoring within the top 10% of their category. RVU ranked 3rd of all schools in its category, receiving the additional Top Ten School designation. Pioneering Digital Health Track Welcomes First Class of Students [January 31, 2020] Students at Rocky Vista University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVUCOM) with an interest in digital health are now enrolled in the new Digital Health Track. The advent of digital health – the integration of technology into healthcare to improve a patient’s wellbeing – has created a need for physicians who are knowledgeable about its emerging tools. “[RVUCOM] is a pioneer of digital health education,” said Cole Zanetti, DO, MPH, and Regan Stiegmann, DO ‘14, MPH, Co-Directors of the Track on RVU’s Colorado and Southern Utah locations, respectively. “Being the only medical institution in the country longitudinally training in digital health, we are setting a higher bar for medical education worldwide. تعليم البوكر ” The Digital Health Track will allow students to effectively solve complex healthcare challenges through the utilization of technology and applications.
