Dr. Salah Sharif holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from the Arab Medical University in Libya, a Ph.D. in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado, and an M.S. in Clinical Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University. His doctoral training focused on the effects of creatine supplementation and exercise on chemotherapy-induced toxicity. He is also certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-RCEP). He brings more than a decade of teaching and research experience in medical and exercise physiology. He previously served as a Lecturer of Physiology at the University of Benghazi and most recently as a Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic. He continues to collaborate with Mayo Clinic, where his work examines the impact of high-intensity interval training on clinical outcomes in patients with cardiovascular disease undergoing cardiac rehabilitation. At Rocky Vista University, he is committed to mentoring students and integrating lifestyle medicine into osteopathic medical education. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys spending time with family, hiking, exploring the outdoors, and practicing Kyokushin Karate, in which he holds a black belt. Among his travels, Beirut and Venice remain favorite destinations for their rich culture and natural beauty.
