Bio

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Ted Vlahos earned his Bachelor of Science (1983), Master of Science (1985), and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (1988) from The Ohio State University. Dr. Vlahos is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (EQ) and served on the ABVP Council of Regents. Dr. Vlahos was founding member and Chair of the ABVP Ethics Committee and served on the AAEP Professional Conduct and Ethics Committee. Dr. Vlahos is a world-renowned leader in the development of amputation and prosthesis procedures for the most severely injured horses and has trained veterinarians in his surgical techniques on four continents. Dr. Vlahos is a widely published author and speaker and has been a mentor and clinical instructor of veterinary medical students around the globe for over 30 years. Dr. Vlahos is the owner of Yellowstone Equine Hospital PC, a specialty referral hospital in Cody, WY. He is also Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of BrightHorse Equine Performance Inc., an innovative veterinary medical technology company based in CA. Dr. Vlahos enjoys horseback riding, fly fishing and hunting in the Yellowstone backcountry with his wife Cathy.
