Dear RVU Family:

This week is a time of reflection for all Americans.  We see our flag flying at half-mast in memory of the over 500,000 American lives lost in this pandemic.  Our condolences go out to those who have lost friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers.  Our hearts grieve for those who died alone, or in the presence of first responders and caregivers, without the touch of their loved ones.  We pray for the safety of those who continue caring for the sick among us, and for the quick distribution of vaccines.

We recognize the extraordinary efforts made by everyone to close down our facilities and move teaching online.  We thank faculty, staff, administration, students, and all RVU associates for coming together, working as a team, with the common goal of protecting all while continuing our mission to provide an excellent education and training to all students, residents, and fellows.

This year has been difficult for all, stressful beyond belief, but at the nearly one-year mark, we can be proud of our response and our work.  Thank you to all for your extra efforts on behalf of the COVID-19 Response Team.  There is reason to be hopeful that 2021 will allow us to resume more “normal” learning and working conditions, with vaccine distributions increasing and new vaccines coming soon.
