Leadership Dixie Explores RVU Utah’s State-of-the-Art Medical Training Facilities

Rocky Vista University (RVU) recently welcomed members of Leadership Dixie, a prestigious community education program, for an exclusive tour of its Ivins, Utah, campus. The tour offered an in-depth look at its innovative healthcare education programs and hands-on learning environments.

As part of Leadership Dixie’s Education Day, participants explored RVU’s simulation labs, academic spaces, and student support resources while engaging with faculty and student ambassadors. The visit was part of the program’s ongoing effort to develop informed, dynamic leaders in Washington County by exposing them to institutions that shape the region’s future.

“It was an honor to host Leadership Dixie and showcase how RVU is shaping the future of healthcare in our region,” said Nathan Lefevor, Sr. Practice Director of Clinical Operations. “Engaging with local leaders strengthens our shared mission of community growth and educational excellence. At RVU, we’re proud to contribute to the health and prosperity of Washington County.”

During the tour, visitors learned about RVU’s commitment to providing high-quality medical education and its impact on healthcare in Utah and beyond. The group also heard from Dr. Steven Harmon (Clinical Director of the Rocky Vista Health Center, Utah), Dr. Amanda Brooks (Vice Provost of Research and Scholarly Activity), Rick Hann (Director of Campus Operations), and Carly Gonzalez (COM 2026 UT), who shared insights into the university’s work in research, clinical training, and community outreach.

The visit underscores RVU’s dedication to building strong partnerships with local organizations and leaders who drive positive change. As the healthcare landscape evolves, RVU continues to prepare the next generation of medical professionals with the skills and compassion needed to serve their communities.
