Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine Celebrates Match Day for Utah Campus

Ivins, UT – Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVUCOM) celebrated Match Day with the anticipated 336 graduates of the 2025 class as they learned where they will be completing their residency training.

Match Day is one of the most anticipated milestones in a medical student’s journey, marking the culmination of years of dedication and training. Each year, medical students nationwide participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP or Match), where graduating medical students from across the country are notified of where they will train for residency and in which medical field they will complete their medical training. The process, which begins months in advance, is a journey of anticipation and excitement as students submit applications and interview with residency programs, leading up to the third Friday in March – Match Day.

99% of RVU’s Class of 2025 successfully matched into residency programs across the country, securing placements in competitive specialties, including Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Internal Medicine – Pediatrics, and Dermatology. Primary care remains a strong focus for RVU graduates, with 52% matching into Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics.

Dr. Laura Rosch, Campus Dean of RVU College of Osteopathic Medicine Utah, congratulated the class of 2025, saying, “RVU students have once again demonstrated their commitment to excellence, with many matching into highly competitive specialties and prestigious programs. We look forward to seeing them thrive as they transition into residency and serve their communities. Congratulations!”

RVU students matched into residency programs across 41 states, with the largest number heading to Colorado, Arizona, Texas, and California and 8 students staying in Utah. Among them, 28 students secured military residency placements, where they will serve as future physician leaders in the armed forces, reflecting RVU’s commitment to service and excellence in medical education.
