Our Mission

The Student Affairs Department advances the University’s mission of providing quality healthcare education with programs and services that foster academic success, student development, and campus community. We assist and inspire student doctors as they prepare for compassionate, innovative, and patient-centered careers in medicine.

Our Department Goals

  • Interpersonal Competence - We will provide opportunities for students to develop their skills in professionalism, communication, collaboration, team-building, relationship-building, and problem-solving.
  • Student Learning - We will promote student learning through co-curricular programming, academic & career advising activities, and holistic wellness activities.
  • Social Responsibility - We will promote student respect and understanding for others through programming which highlights diversity, inclusivity, and an increased global awareness.

Our Department Learning Outcomes

Students who interact with or receive support from Student Affairs will be able to:

  • Develop healthy and respectful relationships with others, an integrated sense of personal identity and a positive sense of self.
  • Acquire, integrate, and apply knowledge that supports their academic and personal growth and wellness.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of cultural and human differences and the value of promoting respect and service to others.
