Kären Robinson, M.S., LPC

Kären Robinson, LPC, CMHC, NCC serves as the Director of Mental Health and Wellness Services for RVU’s Colorado and Utah Campuses. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has been a practitioner for 10 years. In her role, she completes many of the administrative functions of the MHW area, including reporting, learning outcomes assessment, strategic planning, budgeting, supervising the MHW team, and leading programmatic improvement, as well as seeing a small number of therapy clients. She practices primarily with a cognitive behavioral approach, integrating aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She strives to practice cultural humility and welcomes the opportunity to work with people of diverse backgrounds. She lives with her partner and dog, and enjoys cultural events such as theatre, concerts, and festivals.

Geri Harames, M.S., CMHC

Geri Harames, CMHC, LPC is a Mental Health and Wellness Therapist on the Ivins, Utah campus. She is also licensed in the state of Colorado and is able to serve the Colorado students virtually. She has been at RVU since 2022 and loves working with the students. Geri earned her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Phoenix. In the past 25 years she has worked in Health and Human

Services on a state and county level, at Weber State University as an Academic Advisor and in private practice. Her philosophy in counseling grows from her life and professional experiences, a fascination with human behavior and a genuine love for helping others. She believes in the importance of individual counseling as well as the effectiveness and power of groups. This belief includes providing a caring, safe, and equitable environment where a client can heal and grow. Geri’s uses integrative therapy, an individualized holistic approach that combines techniques and depends on the unique needs of the client. Geri lives with her dog “Leo”, and enjoys spending time with her family. She loves all things southern Utah and spending time outdoors.

Jamie Sceili, M.S.W., LCSW

Jamie Sceili, LCSW, serves as a Mental Health and Wellness Therapist for the Utah and Colorado Campuses. Her office is located on the Utah campus. Jamie graduated from Utah State University with a Master of Social Work. Jamie uses an eclectic theoretical approach to therapy encompassing attachment, cognitive behavioral, internal family systems, mindfulness, polyvagal, self-compassion, and value systems and is trained in EMDR. Jamie focuses on safety and connection while empowering people of all backgrounds to develop hope and understanding on their journey of self-discovery. Jamie enjoys the Red Rocks of Southern Utah and taking her miniature schnauzer out for adventures. Jamie is a longtime Utah Shakespeare Festival attendee. Jamie’s clinical experience includes outpatient mental health, inpatient psychiatric care, and public education. Jamie has previous experience in higher education and in law as a Paralegal. Jamie is excited to support students of RVU and positively impact their success during their academic career.

RESOURCES

The RVU Counseling Center provides counseling to students and their immediate family members free of charge. Referrals to off-campus providers are made as needed, to providers that accept the student’s insurance.

There are many resources available to assist students in navigating the process of managing stressors and building the life of a physician.

In addition to the on-campus resources, RVU encourages students to reach out to community resources.
